Specialist Pathway subjects

The Specialist Pathway (SP) curriculum  is a bespoke approach created to support Teaching & Learning of Science and foundation subjects at Bewick Bridge.

It is an amalgamation of the pastoral structure of primary education and the subject specialist teaching model of middle or secondary schools. 

How is the SP curriculum delivered?


The SP curriculum takes place on Tuesday-Friday afternoons for two hours (12.50pm - 2.50pm). 

During SP time, children are taught Science and foundation subjects by specialist teachers. 

SP lesson structure follow the 4Cs lesson structure - Consolidate, Captivate, Coach and Contemplate .

The rest of the week is with the class teachers as usual.
