NEXT TUESDAY, (26th NOVEMBER) OUR CLASS DOOR WILL OPEN EARLY AT 3:15PM FOR PARENTS TO DROP IN TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT TAPESTRY.
Welcome to Reception!
Next week, we will start our new mini-topic on festivals.
We will learn about festivals that are important to us, our families and our friends.
We will also be using this time to practice for our winter show. Our show will be on Monday 16th December at 9:30am.
The children are busy practising their lines and their songs. Please support your child by rehearsing their line with them.
In our phonics session, the children have been learning about how to blend sounds together. For example, if an adult says the sounds j-e-t, the children can hear the word jet. We have also segmented words, as well. For example, if an adult says the word 'red', the children can hear the sounds r-e-d.
In maths this week, we will be learning about how to compare amounts. We have been using the words 'more', 'fewer' and 'equal' to compare amounts.
Take time to read a story with your child at bed time. A list of recommended books are in our home learning folder at the bottom of the page.
Encourage your child to write their own name. If you would like to borrow any writing materials ask Ms Hulston.
You can support your child's sense of number by counting steps, forwards and backwards, as you go up stairs and by counting scoops of food.
P.E. is on a Wednesday afternoon. Please make sure your child has their P.E. in school ready for their session.
Reading books are changed on a Monday and Friday.
Library books are changed on a Wednesday.
Please arrive at school promptly for 8:50am.
Please remember to send your child in with: a water bottle, a coat, and welly boots!
